A shared move from Unsworth Park can work well, provided everyone means the same thing by “ready”. One person may have six sealed boxes; another may still have a wardrobe full of clothes and a room to clean. Agree the practical details before making the booking together.
Start by recording each person’s block and destination. Then decide whether you need one collection, several pickups or a mixture of home and storage deliveries. Our student moving service can be quoted around the actual job when that information is clear.
Your block matters when checking the date
The university’s 2026/27 agreement dates show Unsworth Park departures between 8 and 11 July 2027, depending on the block. Confirm your own agreement before organising a group booking.
| Published 2026/27 block | Agreement end date |
|---|---|
| Bilberry, Mason and Tawny | 8 July 2027 |
| Honey | 9 July 2027 |
| Bumble | 10 July 2027 |
| Carder, Heath and Marsham | 11 July 2027 |
These are agreement dates, not promised van slots or checkout times. If your friends have different deadlines, a shared collection would need to fit the earliest applicable departure arrangement. Ask each person to check their own paperwork rather than relying on a group-chat assumption.
Give one person the booking details
Choose a lead contact who can confirm the inventory, respond to questions and pass on changes. Everyone should still have the driver’s agreed arrival details and know when to be ready. Keep payment arrangements clear between yourselves before moving day.
A shared spreadsheet is optional; a plain list is enough. Write each person’s name, number of boxes, suitcases, large items, floor and final address. Add whether anyone requires help carrying their load. The relevant University of Manchester moving guide provides the wider checklist for halls and onward journeys.
Check the destination side just as carefully. Two people moving to the same house may have different key arrangements. One person should be available to receive the load, with permission to let the movers in and a clear idea of where each person’s belongings belong.
Make the loading order follow the delivery order
If the van is visiting more than one address, tell the mover before the quote is agreed. Loading is easier to plan when the first delivery can be reached without shifting everything intended for the last stop. Let the mover decide the safe arrangement inside the vehicle.
Give each person a different label colour or a large written name. Include a destination as well as a name: “Sam, kitchen” is ambiguous if Sam has boxes going to two places. Photograph your own boxes together before they leave the room, making it easier to check that everything has arrived.
Shared does not automatically mean cheaper for every person. Extra stops, additional carrying and waiting for another resident can change the work involved. Compare an accurately quoted combined move with separate quotes, then choose the arrangement that fits your budget and timing.
