Leaving Peel Park Quarter means organising two things together: completing your hall checkout and getting your possessions somewhere you can access. Start with the departure date in your contract, then work backwards through collection, packing and the handover of your room.
The University of Salford’s advice for returning students says Peel Park Quarter is reserved for first-year undergraduates. For many residents, the next move therefore involves a different type of accommodation. A shared house may need a different packing plan from another furnished student room.
Check your own contract rather than a general university date
A university calendar tells you about teaching and exams. Your accommodation contract tells you when you must leave your room. Different booking options can have different end dates, so do not assume the date a friend has been given also applies to you.
Campus Living Villages’ moving-out FAQ asks residents to clear their rooms and return keys before 10am on their contract end date. Check your own checkout instructions in case the team has provided further arrangements for your booking.
For planning across the campus, our University of Salford moving guide brings together the details to include in a transport enquiry.
Work backwards from the handover
Collection should leave room for a final check, any last cleaning and returning your keys. A suggested schedule is below; these are planning steps, not additional hall rules.
| When | What to settle |
|---|---|
| As soon as your next address is known | Confirm when you can collect keys and deliver your belongings. |
| Before booking transport | Check the contract deadline, building entrance and loading arrangements. |
| Several days before departure | Pack non-essential items and agree responsibility for shared belongings. |
| The evening before collection | Finish packing, count the load and set aside documents and overnight essentials. |
| Before final checkout | Check drawers and cupboards, complete the room handover and return keys. |
If you have an early deadline, ask whether moving most belongings the previous day would make the departure easier. Keep bedding and any remaining luggage manageable, and make sure both journeys are accounted for.
Confirm collection access with the village team
Give the mover your exact building, flat and floor. Ask the village team where a moving vehicle should go and whether there are any arrangements to make before it arrives. CLV’s guidance says parking availability depends on the village, so a space should not be assumed.
Describe the whole route from room to vehicle. If a lift is relevant, confirm whether it can be used for your move and whether an arrangement is needed. Explain any steps or long carrying distance. These are questions to check locally, rather than reasons to guess that every Peel Park collection works the same way.
Have one reachable person meet the driver. Keep your phone charged and send an updated inventory if the amount being moved changes after you request a quote.
