A useful Parkway Gate move-out plan leaves very little packing for the final morning. By then, your belongings should be counted, your delivery address confirmed and the property’s departure instructions understood. The last tasks should be the things you could not reasonably finish earlier.
The official Parkway Gate page gives the address as 50 Chester Street, Manchester, M15 6JH. Include your flat and room details when organising a collection, and identify the residence by name rather than giving “Chester Street” alone.
Write your own final-day timetable
Find your contract end date and check messages from the property team. Under Unite’s general checkout guidance, the departure deadline is before 10am on the final tenancy day. Confirm how the current instructions apply to your booking.
Use a timetable based on your actual collection, not an optimistic estimate of how quickly you can pack. If the load must leave early, finish the kitchen sorting and most cleaning the previous day. Keep a small bag for the items used overnight.
| Stage | Finish these tasks |
|---|---|
| Several days before | Confirm destination, request building instructions and count large items |
| Before the last evening | Pack books, spare clothes, decorations and kitchen items you will not use |
| Last evening | Check the inventory, seal boxes and prepare your travel bag |
| Before collection | Pack remaining bedding and toiletries; keep keys available |
| After loading | Complete the final room check and the instructed key return |
Sort the kitchen while everyone is still available
For an ensuite room with a shared kitchen, a flat conversation can prevent the most avoidable packing problems. Work through cupboard shelves, the fridge and freezer, and any items several people have used. Decide who owns what before putting it in a box.
If you live in a studio, check your own cupboards systematically. Start at one end, empty and clean a section, then move along. Do not place cleaned items back into a cupboard just because the room still has a few days left to run; put the things you have finished using into their moving containers.
Keep accommodation-owned appliances and furniture separate from your possessions. Use the original inventory where available, and ask the property team about anything uncertain. A kettle you bought and an appliance supplied with the room are different entries on a moving list.
Turn a roomful of belongings into a quote
Write down the number of boxes, suitcases and bags after a first packing pass. Add loose items individually, with dimensions for anything bulky. Photos are useful for objects that are difficult to describe, such as a large monitor setup or a shelving unit you assembled yourself.
Our Manchester student moving service can be quoted from this information. Include the destination, the floor at both ends and whether you need help carrying. Do not leave a bike, clothes airer or extra chair out because it is “only one more thing”.
For several residents moving together, identify each person’s load and all proposed stops. Ask whether the combined job is workable before agreeing a cost split. Friends leaving Parkway Gate on the same date may still have different delivery times or addresses.
