BPP Manchester Student Removals
BPP University publishes no halls of its own in Manchester, so a BPP student move is into a private room or flat, timed to a law course that can start in September, January or February.
The study centre is in the St James Building, 79 Oxford Street, M1 6FQ, a two-minute walk from Oxford Road station. It is open until 9pm Monday to Thursday and through both weekend days, which suits students who are working while they study.

The St James Building
BPP describes its Manchester centre as being in the historic St James's building on Oxford Street, two minutes' walk from Manchester Oxford Road station and five from the main shopping areas, with 32 classrooms and mock courtrooms. Its opening hours run from 8am to 9pm Monday to Thursday, 8am to 6pm on Friday and 8.30am to 6pm on Saturday and Sunday. The centre is described on BPP's Manchester page.
Nobody moves into the study centre itself. For a student moving into a flat near Oxford Road or the city centre, the move comes down to the lift, the loading bay and the managed entrance rather than the distance.
September, January and February Starts
BPP's PGDL runs full-time in Manchester from September 2026 and January 2027; its May start is in London and online only. The LLM Legal Practice for the SQE starts in Manchester in September 2026 and February 2027, and the Barrister Training Course in September 2026 and January 2027.
So a BPP move can fall in late August, over Christmas or at the end of January. We work to those dates as easily as September, and an early booking matters most for the January and February starts, when the move sits close to the holidays.
No BPP Halls in Manchester
BPP publishes no accommodation page and no partner provider for its Manchester centre, so students find their own rooms and flats. Since 1 May 2026 most private tenancies in England are rolling tenancies with no fixed end date, so the move out is set by notice under the new rules rather than a date in the contract.
Students arriving from abroad for a January start face the same search in winter rather than summer, and the paperwork that comes with it, from a share code for the landlord's right to rent check to council tax, is covered for international students.
Oxford Street, Bus Lanes and Bay Suspensions
Oxford Street itself has five pay and display bays, limited to two hours with no return within an hour, charged from 8am to 8pm every day at £7 for two hours. Nearby, the Whitworth Street West contraflow bus lane, from Albion Street to Deansgate, has been in force around the clock since 11 August 2025, and the Oxford Road bus gate closes the main road south to general traffic from 6am to 9pm.
For a longer flat move, the council will suspend a pay and display bay for a domestic removal at £30 per bay per day with five working days' notice. The rules are on the council's suspensions and dispensations page.
What a BPP Move Costs
One mover with a large van starts from £45/hour and two movers from £50/hour. A room or a studio flat is usually one van load, and the price depends on the floor, the lift and the walk from the van.
Every band we quote from is published on the rate card.
How to Book
- 1Tell us both addresses, with flat numbers and floors.
- 2Give us your course start date, or the end of your tenancy.
- 3Say whether either building has a lift or a loading bay that needs booking.
- 4If the move is long, decide whether to suspend a bay; the council needs five working days.
- 5We confirm the time, the van and the price in writing before the day.
What we cover and how your belongings are protected is set out on the insurance and compliance page.
